Welcome to Rise Up Severna Park

522 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146, United States

General Info

Tucked along Ritchie Highway, Rise Up Severna Park feels like one of those coffee shop spots you keep coming back to without even thinking about it. The location is easy to find, and once you step inside, the relaxed atmosphere makes it clear why it’s a local favorite for both quick stops and slow mornings.

The first thing that stands out here is the coffee. It’s not just good-it’s the kind of great coffee that sets the tone for your whole day. Whether you’re grabbing something to-go or staying for a while, the menu offers a solid range of options. If you’re more of a tea person, the great tea selection doesn’t feel like an afterthought either, which is honestly refreshing. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, and that attention carries through every order.

One drink that really deserves the spotlight is the Cream Coffee Smoothie. It’s smooth, rich, and just indulgent enough without feeling too heavy. On a warm day, it hits perfectly, but even on cooler mornings, it’s surprisingly comforting. It’s the kind of signature item that makes you recommend the place to friends after just one visit.

Food-wise, Rise Up Severna Park keeps things simple but satisfying. The breakfast and lunch offerings are exactly what you want from a coffee shop-easy, reliable, and well-paired with whatever you’re sipping. It’s a great place to swing by before work or meet someone midday without overthinking the menu.

The overall setup is practical too. Having a clean restroom available makes it easy to stay a bit longer, whether you’re catching up on emails or chatting with friends. It’s those small details that make a difference when choosing a regular spot.

Looking at reviews, it’s clear that people appreciate consistency here. The location delivers the same quality experience again and again, which isn’t always guaranteed in casual dining spaces. The vibe is unpretentious, the service is straightforward, and the focus stays where it should be-on good drinks and a comfortable environment.

In a town with plenty of dining options, Rise Up Severna Park stands out by doing the basics exceptionally well. It’s not trying to be overly fancy, and that’s exactly why it works.

What customers say?

“ Service was great, staff was very accommodating when I ordered a drink that wasn’t on menu. Food was delicious (Sunset burrito and cinnamon scones). While the atmosphere wasn’t “cozy,” (if that’s what you value) there was ample community seating and the set up allowed me to navigate very easily with my stroller (which is pretty big) and I could say it would do the same for wheelchairs too. Also loved seeing a self serve coffee station, which seems increasingly rare these days. Will come back again. ”

“ What a nice coffee shop. We got to visit RISE UP for the first time today for a coffee, espresso, and matcha tea latte (matcha NOT recommend if you've had a transplant). RISE UP is a very nice clean café. And the girls working behind the counter were very happy and helpful as well. ”

“ Incredible service and drinks! I stopped by the Rise Up drive-thru in Severna Park this Sunday morning, and even though it was really busy, the service was quick, organized, and super friendly. I believe my server’s name was Cyrus—he was awesome! He helped me figure out what to order and made sure everything came out perfectly. We got three drinks total, including two matcha lattes, and they were absolutely delicious — easily the best matcha in Maryland! Everything was made with care, and you could tell the team really takes pride in their work. I just wanted to shout out how great the experience was — this location and staff are top-notch! ”

“ Always good coffee that is fair trade and organic I love the drive thru, though please be patient as it takes just as long to make the drinks! The only downside of this location is that the indoor area is so loud, I wish they had more to dampen the echos and cozier furniture. Also bushier plants to surround the outdoor tables would be lovely. ”

“ My first time here and I ordered a chocolate coffee banana smoothie and iced pistachio matcha latte. I really liked both of my drinks and I appreciated the employees honest opinion when I had questions and their overall friendliness before I decided what to order. Definitely will come back here again! ”

“ We came in on a Saturday at 10am and used the mobile app because the line inside was long. The app is easy to use and provides updates for your order in real time. The restaurant kept getting busier and busier which is a testament to the demand for their food, drinks and service. The staff were all working hard to keep up and kept smiles on their faces, managers were problem solving and putting out fires while calling additional staff to come in early. The drive through, in restaurant, and walk up truck outside were all more packed than I’ve ever seen. It was a madhouse. We ended up leaving without our drinks due to the wait time and having to get home. We had 3 children with us and could not miss nap time. I came back the next morning, Sunday, another busy day and explained what happened showing my app as proof of the unfulfilled order. I was immediately given my drinks and told how sorry they were for the restaurant being extremely busy. They also gave out poker trips for free drinks in the future which we missed when we left. This is true customer service. Own the situation, don’t make excuses, put the customer first. Ask what they could have done better. Get better from the situation. A busy restaurant means they make great food and drinks. They are doing something right. We go out of our way to come to Rise Up locations often and will continue to do so due to how the situation was handled. Shout out to Matt at the drive through window for handling me on Sunday. ”

“ If I’m ever out in the Severna Park area I always make a trip to Rise Up. Their coffee is SO STRONG. Which I love. And it tastes good! Their syrups are pretty good, I usually go with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte and it’s delicious. I also love their happy cow vegan breakfast burrito. I do wish I could order food at the drive thru they have since I have a one year old that’s usually sleeping in the backseat but I get it. A bit small on the inside for the amount of foot traffic, I probably wouldn’t post up here to study or work but they have a nice outdoor seating area when it’s warmer out. ”

“ Fantastic as always. Riseup is a good solid local coffee joint. This is the place to be when you need some coffee, breakfast orn a quick snack. This location has a whole walk-in "vault" for their beans. It's both hilarious and awesome at the same time. I love being able to get a drink with syrup flavors added that is not overwhelming. Often places think you want it overly-saturated sweet and that's not me and it's not them. It's a great blend and i'm appreciative of it. This location is brand new and very fresh. They have a good bit of space to sit in chairs and a tall table with stools as well. If you want a quick coffee you can roll up to their coffee warmers up front, grab a cup fill it and drop your cash in the bucket and just leave. If it's busy and all you want is drip this is literally the best thing. It's so fast and efficient and I wish more places did this Go get yourself some rise up! ”
